Jamie Taerbaum - Owner

Jamie ("JT") opened Soupbox as "Icebox" in June of 1995 when he was 25 years old.  He graduated from UIC and started the business using credit cards -yup yikes! He started by making a product called Icyfruit which is similar to Italian ice, but made it homemade 100% fresh from scratch daily with fresh fruit and nothing else.  Thereafter, in October of 1995 Icebox started making healthy yummy soups converting to the name Soupbox.  After much "trial and error" he feels fortunate to have been recognized with many awards and a lot of media attention.  He's most proud of the fanatic customer base and dedicated ultra friendly Soupbox staff. 

Personally, he trains for Ironman triathlons and mixed martial arts. He also enjoys listening to chill new age type lounge music, reading books that help improve one as a person, and he loves just hanging out with his rescue shelter German Shepherd named Alfie.

His favorite soups are "Signature Chicken with Wild Rice" or mixing "New England Clam Chowder and Signature Lobster Bisque".
